As 2023 comes to a close I wanted to think back and take a quick trip do memory lane this year.
I’ve done a lot this year and have learned alot as well. Starting off with establishing my little small business of handmade lotions and bath and beauty products. Live Metanoia Organics is a small labor of love I got into the more I read about how toxic our bath and beauty products are. Majority of everything you would purchase at Walmart or Target is harmful to your skin. Dyes, fake fragrances, and allergens – these products are literally designed to cause problems to your person so you buy more and different products to fix the reactions you have to the first. Learning this I started making my own. Through farmers markets and word of mouth I have been able to sell my own little body butters and I have enjoyed making them every time.
Another big event that took place this year is the sheer amount of concerts I attended. I really can’t think of all of them. Majority of them were Rock and a little Christian ones thrown in but I have had a wonderful time attending them. Navigating venues and forcing myself to make friends with the people sitting next to me or waiting with me in line has shown me the benefits of human connection. Also learning to do things on my own and be happy where I am has been amazing. I was lucky enough this year to afford a VIP experience with one of my favorite bands and I got a picture with them. Great times all around.
The first half or so of this year I had a personal trainer who helped me get back into working out. I enjoyed lifting and building the habit of healthy and wellness and learning I can do more than what I think due to a trainer who pushed me was a wonderful experience.
I also got aloootttt of tattoos this year. I am almost done patch working my right leg and I’m very excited to finish. My shin and calf are larger pieces but my thigh is a fun mix from my favorite artist. I am looking forward to my next appointment but I am definitely being more picky as to what pieces I put on my body due to spacing. I don’t plan to tattoo anywhere else and I want my leg to be amazing.
Lastly I completed two big life goals this year. One was sky diving I did on my 32 birthday with my dad. There’s no experience like it- jumping out of a perfectly good airplane. I am hooked and plan to jump again next year. I am also wanting to get my jump license. Another expense hobby – but one that would be amazing. I also ran multiple 5ks this year! As someone who never thought she’d run in general, running over 5 5ks has been an experience in patience and determination. I plan to run more next year and move on to 10ks.
I have so many ideas and wants and goals for next year. That will be another post next week. Right now I am set on enjoying the end of this year and the holidays before I usher in 2024. I hope everyone remembers the reason for the season and has a great New year celebration.
My journey continues-
Kaycee
