The Shift

I sometimes wonder about ancient civilizations. You know, the ones where they do the documentaries on them and sometimes they get all ‘conspiracy theory’ about them. I wonder if the whole sacred geometry, sound healing, natural- eco focused city’s and civilizations they talk about were real. If these powerful civilizations were that great, and what all took place for them to fall and ours to rise.

I think about how different our current civilization is to the ones of the past. How we chose industrialization and technology. How WiFi, Bluetooth, EMF, and now AI are currently the rulers of our world along with consumerism. And I know this may not be the case for every country, but for the US? It definitely is.

I am often tired of social media. I think constantly of deleting my apps because I have such distain for algorithms, the constant propaganda, and the sale ads forced onto my psyche from my screen.

It’s never ending.

Instagram, TikTok, or Facebook constantly asking me to buy something, or some influencer blatantly lying about some product they were paid to lie about to sell. The amount of misinformation that is allowed to just exist, and people knowingly put, out is crazy to me. I’m sick of the agendas. I’m sick of the lies. And I’m sick of there being so much hate and blatant ignorance on the internet. It what’s worse? The younger generations are addicted to it.

What could be used as a great information tool is instead used to collect data, psychologically trick, and maladapt children, teens, and young adults into crazy extremes of thinking.

People don’t know how to communicate anymore. They don’t know how to handle others having a different opinions or views without some extreme reaction. Mental illness and emotional disorders are through the roof. And yes- I blame constant news media and social media. Human brains are not wired to handle the amount of negative and horrible information we see across the world, all the time, everyday.

It is true insanity to me.

I yearn for normal conversations. I yearn for people hanging out with each other again at parks, movie theaters, or social places instead of stuck on their phones. I mean even in places of business and restaurants they have moved away from human connection. Instead of talking to an in-person teller, you talk to someone on a screen on a box. Instead of ordering food from a restaurant worker, you order it from an iPad or prompt screen.

I feel that our country is a while away from the type of positive regression I think we need. Where people step back from technology and crave human connection again. There are just too many examples to know it probably won’t change for the better anytime soon.

Even one of my favorite hobbies, live music, is a love/hate example of how people are ‘together’ but ‘separate’. I’ve been surrounded by others at some perfect concerts where everyone is enjoying the music, the moment, the vibes and it’s the best experience. And then I’ve been to some where one third to half of people are so focused on getting videos for their social media that you can’t even enjoy the show because the phones are blocking the view.

There’s also some deterioration in society where people have lost their common decency.

Like where did everyone’s manners go? I’m not saying one needs to be a door mat and be mistreated for the sake of being nice, but my God the audacity is crazy. Some people are just rude. And I live in the south in the US where there’s usually a standard of southern charm and hospitality. But for the past couple years it seems that everyone has forgotten how to love their neighbor.

I think I’m just burnt out on people. I know there are wonderful people out there in the world, but man I just feel recently there’s been a lot of crappy ones.

Maybe I need to branch out and find more social clubs. Theres a couple of running clubs I have been meaning to get into to meet new people. I should probably go back to Jujitsu class as well or get back into Pilates. Maybe practicing murder yoga and getting my and shredded will remind me not all people suck.

Or..

I can continue to hope and pray that maybe AI will crash everything one day and people learn how to “people” again.

One can only wish.

My journey continues,

Kaycee
